Steel pipes are prone to rust in real-world applications, so anti-rust primer or paint is necessary, followed by a top coat of oil paint or another suitable finish, depending on the job site's requirements.

Why insulate pipes?
Pipe insulation is used to prevent heat or cold from escaping from the pipe or tank, helping to avoid hazards from extreme temperatures that could harm workers.
There are two types of insulation:
- Heat insulation: Insulation for heat is typically made with rock wool. Rock wool can withstand very high temperatures, making it a popular choice for heat insulation.
- Cold insulation: Insulation for cold is typically made with fiberglass or Aeroflex. Fiberglass can endure lower temperatures than rock wool, making it suitable for cold insulation.
